From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Fans can anticipate learning which players will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
